TAGLN and neoplasm: Interestingly, these two genes are part of a coordinately expressed group of genes (synexpression group), that may function together in tumorigenesis, including Hypoxia induced factor-1 alpha (HIF1Α), the actin binding protein Transgelin (TAGLN, SM22) and Platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRΒ), markers of abnormal tumor vessels [35] and pericytes [36], respectively (Figure S10 A–C).
