ALK and lung cancer: In the article by Kwak et al. (2010), a population of patients with non–small cell lung cancer, whose tumors were positive for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements (N = 82), were enrolled on a clinical trial of crizotinib (Xalkori), an oral inhibitor of ALK and other kinases that inhibit tyrosine phosphorylation of activated ALK.
