CRP and pulmonary tuberculosis: One group of authors evaluated CRP levels in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis during6 months of treatment; at 3 and 6 months after treatment initiation, there was asignificant reduction in CRP levels.(22) CRP has been identified as an important indicator in the diagnosis ofindividuals with suspected tuberculosis and positive smear microscopy.(24) In our study, a statistically significant association between lowerCRP/albumin ratio values and negative cultures for mycobacteria was also found.
