The mean CRP level (64.4 vs. 8.8 mg/dL, p<0.001), ESR (53.8 vs. 26.8 mm/h, p<0.001), and PMNs (8.4 vs. 0.8, p<0.001) were significantly higher in patients with PJI than in those with noninfection-related failure. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is juvenile polyposis syndrome.
