According to the update WHO classification (2008), the group of hypereosinophilic syndromes (HES) encompasses myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms with eosinophilia and abnormality of PDGFRalpha, PDGFRbeta, or FGFR1, chronic eosinophilic leukemia, not otherwise specified (CEL, NOS) and idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (IHES) [1].
