XRCC1 and glioma: A meta-analysis of nine case-control studies with 3,146 cases and 4,296 control subjects indicated that the XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of glioma among Asian individuals and borderline increased risk for glioblastoma among Caucasian individuals, whereas the XRCC1 Arg194Trp/Arg280His polymorphisms may have no affect on the susceptibility of glioma among different ethnicities (24).
