Furthermore, PI3K and p-Akt overexpression was detected in 58.6 (41/70) and 50.0% (35/70) of the tumors, which was higher than in the tumor-adjacent tissues for PI3K [16.7% (5/30); χ2=14.8455; P<0.001] and p-Akt [10.0% (3/30); χ2=14.2615; P=0.001] (Fig. 1).
