Recently, miR-17-92 and the related miR-106b/miR-25 and miR-371-373 clusters were reported to control TGFβ signaling [44] through the inhibition of SMADs and TGFBR2; while our previous results also indicate that miR-17 inhibits SMAD4 in ccRCC cells [45]. This evidence concerns the gene SMAD4 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
