NCATc2 is a non-ETS family transcription factor that has recently been described as an alternate fusion partner to EWSR1 in a small series of “Ewing sarcoma-like” tumors [36], but has not previously been reported to partner with the alternate TET family member FUS. CIC gene rearrangements, particularly CIC-DUX4 fusions, have been described in a group of aggressive undifferentiated small blue round cell sarcomas thought to be distinct from Ewing sarcoma [37]. The gene discussed is CIC; the disease is Ewing sarcoma.
