The purpose of the present study was to investigate the expression of the cell adhesion molecules cluster of differentiation (CD) molecule 11B [CD11b; also known as α subunit of the β2-integrin macrophage-1 antigen (MAC-1)], CD54 [also known as intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1)] and CD162 [also known as P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 (PSGL-1)] on monocytes under normothermic (36°C) and hypothermic (18°C) conditions using an in vitro experimental model that simulates the conditions of circulatory arrest. The gene discussed is ICAM1; the disease is cardiac arrest.
