Abraxas, which has recently been reported in breast cancer owing to its association with BRCA1 BRCT (BRCA1 C-terminal) repeats motif[69], links BRCA1 to a protein complex dedicated to ubiquitin chain recognition and hydrolysis at DNA double strand breaks, and is thus involved in BRCA1-dependent DNA damage response[70,71].
