Promyelocytic leukaemia zinc finger (PLZF), which was first identified as a partner gene fused to retinoic acid receptor alpha in the variant chromosomal translocation t(11;17)(q23;q21) in acute promyelocytic leukaemia, is a nuclear transcription factor belonging to the BTB/POZ family [4-6]. This evidence concerns the gene ZBTB16 and acute promyelocytic leukemia.
