Among the 69 ciliary-associated genes analyzed, seven genes showed a statistically significant decrease in expression in breast cancers (log fold change: DYNC2H1 = -0.66; IFT46 = -1.07; PKD2 = -1.67; NPHP3 = -1.10; BBS2 = -1.51; BBS4 = -0.78; TTC8 = -1.46) (Figure 5B and Additional file 1: Table S5). This evidence concerns the gene BBS4 and breast cancer.
