In light of the findings by Sallusto’s group that different pathogens promote the generation of either effector or regulatory Th17 cells (94), it is possible that different types of cancers will induce Th17 cells that can either facilitate or suppress angiogenesis by differentially regulating IL-17A, IL-17F, IL-21, and IL-22 secretion in patients. The gene discussed is IL22; the disease is cancer.
