Multiple sequence alignment of capsid proteins of all members belonging to HEV-A reveals that residues P96, L97, N102 of B-C loop, D219 of G-H loop, K285, S290 located at the C-terminus of VP1, G140, T141, E142, P147 of E-F loop of VP2 and H180, A181, R182, D183 of G-H loop of VP3 are highly conserved in all HEV-A viruses dependent on SCARB2 for infection (Fig. S5A). This evidence concerns the gene SCARB2 and infection.
