Bevacizumab (Avastin, Genentech Inc., South San Francisco, California), a recombinant humanised monoclonal IgG1 antibody against all isoforms of VEGF-A, is able to block the binding between VEGF and its receptors (Flt-1 and KDR) on the surface of endothelial cells.[5] Bevacizumab has been widely prescribed in the treatment of many types of malignancy, including colorectal cancer, renal cell carcinoma, lung cancer and breast cancer. Here, VEGFA is linked to lung cancer.
