VEGFA and lung carcinoma: Bevacizumab (Avastin, Genentech Inc., South San Francisco, California), a recombinant humanised monoclonal IgG1 antibody against all isoforms of VEGF-A, is able to block the binding between VEGF and its receptors (Flt-1 and KDR) on the surface of endothelial cells.[5] Bevacizumab has been widely prescribed in the treatment of many types of malignancy, including colorectal cancer, renal cell carcinoma, lung cancer and breast cancer.
