CP is a monocationic copper (I) complex that was found to be an effective antiproliferative agent in colon cancer cells through the impairment of ubiquitin/proteasome system and the activation of paraptosis, an alternative form of programmed cell death characterized by cytoplasmic vacuolization, mitochondrial swelling and the absence of caspase activation [10]. Here, CP is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
