RPS4X and ovarian neoplasm: Recently, Tsofack et al.[15] have immunohistochemically revealed that high expression of the X-linked ribosomal protein S4 (RPS4X; encoded by human sex-chromosome X), which is involved in cellular translation and proliferation, is implicated for less aggressive ovarian tumors, slower disease progression, and less deaths associated with this disease, while that lower levels of RPS4X are correlated to poor survival and disease progression.
