Golimumab (GLM) (trade name Simponi), a fully human anti-TNF-α monoclonal antibody, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2009 for the use with methotrexate (MTX) in adults with moderate-to-severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and with or without MTX or other biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs in adults with active psoriatic arthritis (PsA) or active ankylosing spondylitis (AS) [9]. Here, TNF is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
