The majority of patients, mostly with metastatic melanoma, that have an anti-NY-ESO-1 antibody response to their tumors have NY-ESO-1-specific CD8+ T-cells, as opposed to NY-ESO-1 antibody negative patients, who rarely develop CD8+ T cell responses against NY-ESO-1 [26-27, 31].
