This is an interesting finding in view of our recent observation that although a single immunizing dose of both AdPyCS and AdPyCelTOS could induce a high level of antigen-specific CD8+ T cell response, only PyCS-specific CD8+ T cell response, but not PyCelTOS-specific CD8+ T cell response, was able to inhibit the parasite load in the liver of malaria-challenged mice [15]. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is malaria.
