Koinuma et al.[52] reported that overexpression of AXIN2, either by treatment with 5′-azacytidine or by transfection with AXIN2 cDNA, resulted in rapid cell death in a MSI CRC cell line, which supports the functional significance of AXIN2 changes in methylation and expression in our study. The gene discussed is AXIN2; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
