In contrast to our results, Rensink et al. reported increased IGFBP3 expression in Dutch mutant Aβ1–40-treated human brain pericytes as well as in a subset of AD brain regions, particularly in senile plaques and cerebral amyloid angiopathy of the cortex but not of the hippocampus [25]. This evidence concerns the gene IGFBP3 and Alzheimer disease.
