mRNA and protein levels of cPLA2 IVA (PLA2G4A), sPLA2 IIA (PLA2G2A), COX-1 and -2 (PTGS1, PTGS2), mPGES1 (PTGES1), and LOX-12 and -15 (ALOX12B, ALOX15B), are increased in Alzheimer's disease in the frontal cortex [68], hippocampus [69]–[72], and cerebellum [69]. Here, PLA2G2A is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
