The expression of Tim-1 in tumors (21,22) and the potential association between Tim-1 and thymoma, which was previously confirmed using a Tim-4-Ig fusion protein that showed the activation of T cells with Tim-4-Ig contributed to the phosphorylation of Tim-1 and thymoma viral proto-oncogene 1, indicated that Tim-1 may be involved in thymoma. The gene discussed is HAVCR1; the disease is thymoma.
