In the studies involving a pneumonia model, vaccination targeting a trimeric autotransporter protein Ata or polysaccharide PNAG produced bacterial loads in lung tissues that were only reduced approximately 2-5-fold or 3-5-fold depending on the strains used for the challenge [9], [11] The results are similar to that found in our current pneumonia model study, in which a 2-4-fold reduction was found at 24 h. The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
