There was no statistical significant difference (P < 0.05) in baseline demographic characteristics between the groups for age, sex, associated pathologies (diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, or cardiac pathology), medication (insulin/oral antidiabetic medication, dyslipidemia drugs, antihypertensive drugs, antiaggregants, or oral hypocoagulation), dependency in activities of daily living (ambulatory/nonambulatory and independent of/dependent on help from others), and FRAX score for the probability of hip fracture (A-17.9/B-17.6) (Figure 1).
