These data implicate PALB2 as a possible melanoma susceptibility gene, although Sabbaghian and colleagues found no association between germline PALB2 mutation and CMM risk in a screen of 53 probands from multi-case CDNK2A mutation-negative melanoma families, and Yang failed to identify PALB2 mutations in 23 CMM families that are CDKN2A mutation-positive and contain a subset of families (n = 11) with pancreatic cancer also [25]. Here, PALB2 is linked to familial congenital mirror movements.
