We observed the down-regulation of genes involved in breast cancer tumorigenesis (BRCA1, DKK1, CLAUDIN1), tumor cell progression (NOTCH3, MAML2, VIMENTIN), multidrug resistance (VTRNA1-1), cell cycle progression (E2F8A), DNA reparation (BRCA1), metastasis (VIMENTIN, BRMS1L) and the up-regulation of genes involved in the inhibition of angiogenesis (CXCL10), apoptosis (CASP4), repressor of metastasis (BRMS1L) or genes involved in cell proliferation inhibition (CSE), among others (Fig. 3A). This evidence concerns the gene VIM and breast cancer.
