Adiponectin has been previously reported to suppress endometrial cancer proliferation through AdipoRs and also increase the expression of the adaptor molecule, LKB1, which is required for adiponectin-mediated activation of the AMPK/S6 axis and modulation of cell proliferation, colony formation, adhesion and invasion of endometrial carcinoma cell lines in vitro (34,45). This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and endometrial cancer.
