Recently, Grossmann et al (19) identified a novel mechanism of action for Wnt5a, by which Wnt5a binds to the cellular Fzd 4-LRP6 receptor complex and activates ADP-ribosylation factor 6, thus, inducing the disruption of the N-cadherin and β-catenin complex and resulting in the enhancement of melanoma invasion and metastasis. Here, WNT5A is linked to melanoma.
