A recent study in a cohort of 100 BC patients diagnosed at or before age 35 identified germline BRCA1, BRCA2 and TP53 mutations in 11, 6, and 5% of the patients, respectively, supporting that the TP53 mutation screening should be offered together with BRCA1/2 testing in women with early-onset BC [7]. The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is breast cancer.
