It indicated that the inhibition of miR-26a in SW620 cells could cause similar glucose metabolic effects that were obtained in HCT116 cells.All these results have demonstrated that miR-26a inhibits the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA though directly targeting the PDHX (Figure 8), which accelerates the glucose consumption to undergo aerobic glycolysis for meeting their increased energy and biosynthesis in colon cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene PDHX and malignant colon neoplasm.
