Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a clonal myeloproliferative hematopoietic stem cell disease, characterized by the presence of the Philadelphia chromosome, which is generated by the reciprocal translocation of the ABL1 oncogene localized on chromosome 9 with the breakpoint cluster region (BCR) on chromosome 22 [t (9; 22)] (1,2). This evidence concerns the gene ABL1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
