A comparison of the REST occupancy in differentiated cell types (T cells and neurons) with the 13 cancer-derived cell lines revealed that several tumor suppressor genes (OSMR, MYO1A, THRB, FRMD3, LOXL4, CEACAM3, TRH) were bound by REST in all of the cancer cell lines, but in neither neurons nor T cells. The gene discussed is LOXL4; the disease is neoplasm.
