Several studies have shown that glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1), GSTM1 and GSTT1 are highly expressed in urinary bladder tissues and showed significantly higher activity and expression of these enzymes in bladder tumors than in normal uroepithelium (Pljesa-Ercegovac et al. 2011; Savic-Radojevic et al. 2007; Simic et al. 2005). The gene discussed is GSTP1; the disease is urinary bladder neoplasm.
