Since RhoA kinase is involved in Ca2+ sensitization of smooth muscle contraction [23], and RhoA-mediated pathway is implicated in the pathophysiology of hypertension [16], we examined the possible role of RhoA signaling in TCTP-induced VSMC contraction, especially whether and how the components of RhoA/Rho kinase signaling pathway involved in the Ca2+ sensitization, in vitro. This evidence concerns the gene TPT1 and hypertensive disorder.
