In prostate cancer, DAB2IP expression was shown to be repressed by promoter methylation and histone modification, primarily through the action of the histone methyltransferase EZH2 [12, 13], whereas in breast cancer [6], lung cancer [8], and gastrointestinal tumors [14], aberrant promoter hypermethylation was shown to down-regulate DAB2IP. This evidence concerns the gene DAB2IP and prostate cancer.
