Genetics in ADHD have focused on the dopamine and serotonin systems (e.g., DAT, DRD4, 5-HTT; Faraone et al., 2005), whereas studies of dyslexia have identified several candidate genes that are thought to be involved in early brain development, particularly neuronal migration (e.g., DYX1C1, DCDC2, KIAA0319; for review, Carrion-Castillo et al., 2013). Here, KIAA0319 is linked to dyslexia.
