However, the fraction of intracellular bacteria co-localized with LC3 was significantly higher in FAK-deficient cells: at 3 hours post-infection 25% of internalized bacteria were in LC3-positive structures, vs. 10% for WT cells (Figure 4C–D) and this ratio was maintained throughout the 5-hour time course (Figure 4D, first grouping).
