Other studies have reported that the PGC-1α/Mfn2 regulatory pathway is functional in diseases of energy dysmetabolism, such as type 2 diabetes which support our finding that PGC-1α/Mfn2 plays a key role in the regulation of hepatic mitochondrial function whose abnormality is involved in the pathogenesis of hepatic IRI, [36]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARGC1A and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
