Integration into CISs is commonly considered important as such integrations should mark disruptions that triggered the onset of tumorigenesis in progenitor cells [73], and in this study numerous integrations in RTCGD-assigned CISs were detected e.g. Ccnd3, Frat1, Gfi1/Evi5, Myb and Myc/Pvt1 (Additional file 2).
