Interestingly, we observed that the expression levels of HBXIP were remarkably increased in LO2-X-S cell lines and liver cancer tissues of HBx-Tg mice aged 18 M (Figure 3A, B and Additional file4: Figure S3(B)), suggesting that HBx accelerates carcinogenesis through up-regulating HBXIP with partner survivin. This evidence concerns the gene LAMTOR5 and liver cancer.
