DCLK1 and neoplasm: Recently, cutting-edge studies using the Dclk1CreERT2; Apcmin/+ lineage tracing mouse model have demonstrated that Dclk1+ cells selectively mark tumor stem cells (TSCs) in intestinal adenomas and diphtheria-toxin inducible ablation of these cells results in massive loss of polyps with no apparent negative effects on the normal intestine[11].
