To vertify our hypothesis that angiogenic tumors which depend the tumorigenity on angiogenesis are more sensitive to anti-angiogenic treatment, the present study has demonstrated three important findings: the relationship of HOXB9 to colorectal cancer tumorigenicity in vitro and in vivo in terms of angiogenesis and TGF beta signaling; the association of VEGF and anti-angiogenic agents with the tumorigenic HOXB9 effect; and, the association of HOXB9 with accelerated cytokine release from tumor microenvironment. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is neoplasm.
