In this study, the authors highlighted the alteration in mitochondrial trifunctional enzyme alpha subunit (Hadha) and dehydrogenase 1 alpha subcomplex 10 (NDUFA10) as possible relevant molecular agents in the development of cardiac hypertrophy in SHR, since both enzymes were differentially expressed as early as one week of age in this rat strain. This evidence concerns the gene HADHA and cardiac hypertrophy.
