To investigate the relationships of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and related molecules to neoangiogenesis, we performed immunohistochemical analyses of alpha-smooth-muscle actin (α-SMA), stroma-derived factor-1 (SDF-1), and its cognate receptor CXCR4 in primary NPC lesions. Here, CXCL12 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
