The expression of ARHI correlates with prolonged progression-free survival and has been found downregulated in more than 60% of ovarian cancers [74, 75]. ARH1 is an imprinted oncosuppressor gene (one allele is inherited in a hypermethylated form), and therefore one single event (deletion, mutation, or epigenetic silencing) affecting the functioning allele is sufficient to cause the loss of function [76, 77]. Here, DIRAS3 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
