The FASN inhibitor cerulenin and the mTOR inhibitor rapamycin each cause cell death, as shown in previous studies[26], [27].To determine whether the mTOR inhibitor synergized with the FASN inhibitor to induce cytotoxicity, the breast cancer cells were treated with cerulenin, rapamycin or the combination of cerulenin and rapamycin.
