FGFR1 and osteosarcoma: This report prompted us to assess the frequency of FGFR1 amplification in a larger cohort of osteosarcomas, with the aim of determining if this biomarker could be used for identifying a histological subtype/s of osteosarcoma that may benefit from treatment with FGFR1 inhibitors, and also to determine if FGFR1 amplification would allow stratification of patients for treatment with neo-adjuvant therapy and/or introduction of specific FGFR inhibitors as a treatment option.
